Whole Community Catechesis is drawn from careful consideration of the way Jesus taught, along with reflections on the teachings of Vatican II and the emerging consensus in the catechetical community that the present "schoolhouse" framework within which catechesis is provided lacks some essential elements. It won't happen overnight, but all across the country parish leaders are embracing the concept and searching for ways to help it happen. They want faith formation to involve adults as well as children.
